AIE International High School is a fully accredited senior high school located on the scenic Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

As a fully accredited IB World School, we offer the rigorous Diploma Programme (IBDP), recognized as the global gold standard in education. This curriculum emphasizes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and developing research skills essential for success at top universities worldwide.
Alongside the IBDP, our International Liberal Arts (ILA) Course offers a unique pathway, utilizing the IB curriculum’s framework to foster deep critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a specific focus on developing “usable” English.
Our commitment to English education is intensive. Students can spend up to 1,600 hours over three years immersed in the language, moving far beyond rote memorization. Our goal is practical, confident communication. Through dynamic discussions, presentations, and diverse classes, students aim for high proficiency levels (such as Eiken Pre-1 or TOEFL 90+) and gain the skills to truly use English as a global tool.

- English Theater: A cornerstone of our curriculum is the annual English Theater program. This is not a simple club activity. Every student participates in a full-scale production over three months. By learning to “become someone else,” students cultivate profound empathy (the ability to imagine others’ feelings) and sympathy (the ability to share them). It is an exercise in teamwork, confidence, and discovering the living, breathing power of language.
- Study Abroad and Cultural Exchange: We strongly encourage students to experience the world firsthand. We offer numerous opportunities, including summer programs at our partner universities in the United States, allowing students to broaden their horizons and gain a tangible sense of global community.
